Temporary Suspension of the Liquidation Process for 4 Child Care Institutions
The Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs has presented a draft amendment to the government decision regarding the dissolution of four more child care institutions: the "Dilikjan Children's Care and Protection Night Shelter," the "Gyumri Children's Care and Protection Night Shelter No. 2," the "Gyumri Children's Care and Protection Night Shelter No. 1," and the "Buryaravan Children's Care and Protection Night Shelter." However, in response to a Tert.am inquiry, the ministry informed that the projects for the liquidation of the state non-commercial organizations have been temporarily suspended, ensuring that the best solutions have been found for each child in the institutions.
“Steps towards realizing children's right to live in a family have begun years ago, during which three out of seven night shelters have already been restructured into daytime care centers. During this period, the ministry has developed a comprehensive program for implementing measures to ensure children's right to live in a family, which has also initiated the process of dissolution of night shelters,” the response to the inquiry stated.
According to the ministry, a total of 260 children are currently being cared for in the four institutions slated for liquidation.
