Delay of Peach Trucks Not Related to Legal Proceedings Against Spayka, Says Tigran Khachatryan
The delay of trucks loaded with peaches at the Upper Lars checkpoint is not related to legal proceedings against the Spayka company. This was stated by Armenia's Minister of Economy, Tigran Khachatryan, during a conversation with reporters on August 29.
According to him, Spayka plays a very important role in Armenia's economy, and the delay is likely related to customs procedures. 'We have contacted our Russian counterparts requesting the complete inspection of 15 trucks and resolving the issue as quickly as possible to avoid damages. As a result, 18 trucks were allowed to pass without inspection, and 7 trucks were only partially inspected,' clarified the minister.
It is worth noting that on August 23, Spayka accused the employees of the Upper Lars Russian checkpoint of bias while inspecting the trucks loaded with peaches. However, representatives of the Russian customs deny these allegations.
