Lexus Driver Hits and Kills Woman Around 50 in Kotayk Region

Today, on August 30, a fatal pedestrian accident occurred in the Kotayk region. Around 09:30, the driver of a Lexus vehicle with license plate 88 PP 555 hit a woman aged between 50 and 55 on the 13 km section of the Yerevan-Sevan highway, in the administrative area of Abovyan.

According to photojournalist Gagik Shamshyan, the injured woman died on the spot. The driver did not flee the scene and called for an ambulance and the operational management center of the Road Police.

Officers from the 1st platoon of the 3rd battalion of the 2nd police regiment arrived at the scene, led by platoon commander Artur Petrosyan and squad commander Tigran Kotanjyan.

The operational management center of the Road Police, represented by duty officer Yervand Aleksanyan, informed the Kotayk division of the police, from where an operational group arrived under the leadership of division chief Artak Ghazaryan.

Mher Vardanyan, the head of the Kotayk regional investigation department of the Investigative Committee of Armenia, along with Ruben Mkrtchyan, the head of the Kotayk investigative unit, and Deputy Head Armen Muradyan also arrived at the scene.
