Levon Ter-Petrosyan's Grandson Among 54 Scholarship Recipients

Anna Hakobyan, the chairwoman of the boards of trustees of the 'My Step' and 'City of Smile' charitable foundations, attended the scholarship grant ceremony of the 'My Step' foundation today. The event was attended by students who have been accepted into leading universities around the world.

Anna Hakobyan expressed hope that the scholarship recipients would return with advanced knowledge to develop Armenia: 'We are eagerly awaiting your return, hoping that you will integrate into various government systems and use your knowledge to serve and develop our country.'

According to Hovhannes Ghazaryan, the executive director of 'My Step', the number of scholarships has doubled compared to last year: 'We have absolute equality between genders, with 27 boys and 27 girls. This happened by chance, as we did not intend to enforce equality. The geography of the universities spans 8 countries: the UK with 25 universities, the USA with 20, Italy with 3, Canada with 2, and one university each from Switzerland, Singapore, France, and Australia.'

He noted that 23 will study for bachelor's degrees, 30 for master's degrees, and 1 for a doctoral degree. 'Last year, we provided scholarships totaling $517,000, and this year that number will likely exceed $1 million.'

Ghazaryan also mentioned that contracts have been signed with the scholarship recipients, obligating them to return to Armenia and work here. Among the 54 scholarship recipients is Levon Ter-Petrosyan's grandson, Levon Ter-Petrosyan, who will study economics at University College London.
