«Hraparak». Pashinyan Criticizes Ambassadors
«Hraparak» newspaper reports: During the recent gathering of ambassadors, Nikol Pashinyan criticized the ambassadors off the record, saying that they are doing nothing for our economy—neither bringing investments nor developing trade and economic ties with the countries they are stationed in. He questioned why the government is spending so much money on them.
Unclear complaints were voiced, but according to those present, the Prime Minister's anger was primarily directed at Armenian Ambassador to the U.S., Varuzhan Nersisyan. The reason appears not to be the lack of investment, but rather Nersisyan's failure to arrange a meeting with high-ranking U.S. officials, specifically the President or the Secretary of State. We were informed that in response, veteran ambassadors diplomatically praised the Prime Minister, after which his anger subsided.
