No Hidden Owners in Armenia After August 31
The RA government today ratified the fourth action program of the "Open Government Partnership" initiative. There is no room for extension.
By August 31, 2019, public governance in Armenia will become more transparent. This decision was made by the government during its regular session, approving the fourth action program of the "Open Government Partnership" initiative developed back in 2018. This is a program that aims to publish data on all real owners of Armenia and their assets.
The program also aims to ensure transparency and trust in state-citizen relations regarding this and other management issues. The transparency program will also include sectors such as budgetary transparency, providing transparency and accountability in education, healthcare, and water and land data, ensuring accessibility of services on community websites, ensuring citizen feedback on state services, and several other key reforms.
It is worth noting that Armenia joined the "Open Government Partnership" initiative eight years ago, in the autumn of 2011. Participating countries in the initiative have until August 31, 2019, to make relevant changes in their action programs. The Armenian authorities have effectively extended the acceptance of the initiative until the deadline.
