Amulsar is Not a Matter for the Faction's Decision, It's a Government Question: Alen Simonian
The Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly and member of the 'My Step' faction, Alen Simonian, presented the issues that were on the agenda following the faction's meeting today.
Simoninan noted that the discussed topics included the members of the Judicial Council, amendments to the statute, and work that will begin on September 9, coinciding with the start of the National Assembly session. Additionally, holidays were mentioned, along with general discussions with deputies about various issues.
When asked whether the Amulsar issue was also at the center of discussions, he replied, 'Amulsar is not a question for the faction to discuss; it is in the professional field. Each of you gets an opinion from one deputy, contrasts it with another political figure's statement, trying to extract news. From that, neither the question is solved nor the position becomes clear. It is an intrigue for a catchy headline. The Amulsar issue is in the professional domain; you can purely observe the discussions within the political force about what opinions exist.' He added, 'You can take Peter, oppose Paul, and say, 'Look, this happened.' Go ahead; it’s your right.'
The Deputy Speaker also responded to questions directed at Sofia Hovsepyan, a member of the 'My Step' faction, regarding its stance, emphasizing that the Amulsar issue is not a matter for the faction's decision but a government question. He stated that if the government's position comes to the National Assembly, it will be discussed.
