You’ve Crossed All Boundaries, Gentlemen: The Businessman Addresses the State Revenue Committee
The leader of the "Suspension" civil movement and businessman Samson Grigoryan wrote on his Facebook page: "In no way ensuring businesses with new-generation cash registers and imposing widespread fines, you’ve crossed all boundaries, gentlemen... Currently in Armenia, businesses that have been waiting for months for the new-generation cash register from the State Revenue Committee are being fined across the board. This process must not only be suspended immediately, but all acts should also be considered null and void."
State Revenue Committee Chairman David Ananyan responded to Grigoryan's post in the comments section: "The issue is so multifaceted and intricate that discussion in this forum would be very ineffective. One thing is clear: tax control must be carried out in accordance with the letter of the law, and taxpayers should exercise their right to appeal. I believe that the trust recently established in the appeals committee is now irrevocable."
Addressing another user, Gayane Babakhanian, who commented on whether they think they can achieve an economic leap with such methods, Ananyan replied: "It seems that you do not fully understand that the formal state has no legal obligation to provide cash registers. It has a constructive obligation, within which the possible and in many cases the impossible is done. This is not visible to the public, therefore, a little tolerance would not hurt."
