Hong Kong Residents Create 45 km Long Human Chain

In Hong Kong, tens of thousands of protesters have formed a human chain reminiscent of the 1989 'Baltic Way' anti-Soviet demonstration, as reported by The Guardian. The chain stretched across both sides of the Hong Kong harbor. The event took place yesterday evening, with many participants illuminating the action by turning on their smartphone flashlights.

The total length of the human chain was approximately 45 km. It is known that on August 23, 1989, around 2 million protesters formed a human chain spanning 600 km across the territories of Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania. That year, all three Baltic states gained their independence.
