Amulsar Mine Operation Means 15-20 Explosions Daily: Former Vayots Dzor Governor to Prime Minister
During a meeting with citizens in Jermuk, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan assured that he has personally read all letters concerning Amulsar since the day he took office. He stated that the criminal case related to the mine was initiated at his initiative, and the expertise was also conducted as per his direction.
Earlier, Edgar Ghazaryan, the head of the Constitutional Court staff, approached Prime Minister Pashinyan in Jermuk. He reminded the Prime Minister that he served as the governor of Vayots Dzor from 2012 to 2014. Ghazaryan highlighted that during his tenure, all operations at Amulsar were halted.
He pointed out that the operation of the Amulsar mine would mean 15-20 explosions daily, resulting in 25 tons of dust from each explosion. "It is impossible for this not to affect this city, not to mention the transportation of ore, noise, etc. This city is a modern city, not medieval, and it has been the only health resort of union significance in Armenia," he stated.
