Major Car Accident in Tavush: All 11 Injured Are Contracted Soldiers

On August 23, a major car accident occurred in the Tavush region. Around 03:30, under yet undetermined circumstances, a GAZ 66 vehicle with military registration number 6710 SH overturned near the military unit located next to the village of Baghanis.

According to photojournalist Gagik Shamshyan, the accident resulted in ten individuals being taken to the Noyemberyan medical center with minor bodily injuries. The injured include 25-year-old Khoren G., 26-year-old Tsovak A., 26-year-old Samson H., 27-year-old Arthur P., 29-year-old Frontik S., 25-year-old Frunzik P., 29-year-old Andranik H., 25-year-old Arsen E., 25-year-old Vahe H., 27-year-old Edgar H., and 32-year-old Haik Sh.

Some of the injured were rescued from the vehicle by fellow soldiers, while others were extricated by the emergency response team of the Noyemberyan firefighting and rescue unit, which arrived promptly at the scene. Officers from the second police battalion's fifth squad and the emergency response group of the Noyemberyan police department also arrived quickly. Additionally, officials from the Noyemberyan department of the military police were present at the site.

The police and military police are working to establish the identity of the driver. According to G. Shamshyan, all the injured are contracted soldiers, and their lives and health are not in danger.
