Aragats Akhoyan Files a Lawsuit Against the Mother See for 518 Million Drams
The examination of the lawsuit filed by former MP Aragats Akhoyan against the Mother See was postponed yesterday at the request of the defendant.
The dispute between Akhoyan and the See has its roots in a construction order from several years ago. Akhoyan's construction company, "Spitak Kamar," carried out work commissioned by the Catholicos, but payment amounting to approximately 200 million drams was never made.
However, we learned yesterday that the plaintiff is demanding a total of 518 million drams, which includes compensation for damages incurred by his company, specifically due to loans taken out as a result of non-payment, among other factors.
The defense of the Mother See is being handled by the office of Ara Zohrabyan, the President of the Chamber of Advocates, although de facto, the head of the Chamber is not participating in the case.
