Heavy Rainfall and Flooding in Sochi

Weather forecasters have predicted bad weather in Sochi for all weekend days. Heavy rain and thunderstorms are expected, and there could be waterspouts over the sea, along with a sharp rise in water levels in the rivers.

In this regard, Mayor Anatoly Pakhomov has ordered the closure of all tent camps near the rivers and to prepare necessary measures for the evacuation of citizens. Visitors and residents of Sochi have also been urged to take safety precautions, such as not leaving vehicles near trees and unfinished structures, staying away from water, and avoiding mountain excursions.
