Video: Fresh Scenes from the Burned Areas of the "Arevik" National Park

The co-founder of the "Eco-Media" journalistic network, journalist Narine Kirakosyan, has published a video from the "Arevik" National Park on her Facebook page, noting that the culprits of this fire must be identified and held accountable.

“Residual fire in the case of juniper will burn for a long time. The juniper fire does not extinguish until the complete charring of the root system, which is evidenced by the first of these photos taken by Manuk Manukyan. This means that after isolating the fire, it is necessary to monitor for several more days to ensure that the fire does not flare up again. The fire that broke out near the communities of Lehvaz and Vardani Gorge in the enlarged community of Meghri in the Syunik Province has spread to an area estimated between 12 to 44 hectares. The first figure was provided by Gagik Gevorgyan, the director of the national park, based on preliminary visual assessment,” Kirakosyan stated.

Facebook user Manuk Manukyan also published photos of the burned junipers in the national park.
