Car Rolls 70m into Ravine in Martakert Region: 1 Dead, 4 Injured
On August 16 at 19:39, the Martakert Regional Department of Emergency Situations received a call reporting a traffic accident on the Tonashen-Three Mankants Monastery section, 8 km into the region. As a result, a vehicle of model 'Isuzu' veered off the road and rolled approximately 70 meters down a ravine. This was reported by the State Emergency Situations Service of Artsakh.
Firefighters from the Martakert regional emergency department were dispatched to the scene to provide assistance. Upon arrival, it was revealed that the accident resulted in the death of the driver, Gagik Bagunts, a resident of Martakert city (born in 1976).
Injured passengers included Ruslan Bagunts (born in 1977), also a resident of Martakert city; Gagik Grigoryan (born in 1979) from Nor Maragha community in Martakert region; Artashes Avagyan (born in 1987) from Yerevan; and Erik Bagunts (born in 1980) from Russia. They were transported to the Martakert military hospital (Ruslan Bagunts) and to the Martakert Regional Medical Organization LLC (Gagik Grigoryan, Artashes Avagyan, and Erik Bagunts) with varying degrees of bodily injuries.
Ruslan Bagunts was discharged from the hospital in satisfactory condition after receiving appropriate medical care. Gagik Grigoryan was transferred to the Republican Medical Center in Stepanakert. According to the information provided by the doctors, Gagik Grigoryan's health condition is assessed as serious, while those of Artashes Avagyan and Erik Bagunts are considered moderate.
As a result of the rescue operations, firefighters recovered the body of G. Bagunts from the ravine.
