Levon Aronian Crowned Winner of Rapid Chess Tournament

The Grand Chess Tour continues in St. Louis. Levon Aronian finished in first place in the rapid chess tournament.

On the final day of the rapid chess competition, he won against American representative Fabiano Caruana, lost to Hungary’s Richard Rapport, and drew with Chinese player Yu Yangi.

Currently, Aronian holds the top position with 13 points, edging out French player Maxime Vachier-Lagrave for second place based on tiebreakers.

Today, the blitz chess tournament will commence, featuring the first 9 rounds of matches.
