Anna Hakobyan Recommends Selling Apartments in Yerevan to Buy a House in Gyumri

Yesterday, following the opening ceremony of a cotton processing factory in Maralik, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan spent the night in Gyumri. This morning, accompanied by his wife, Anna Hakobyan, he took a familiarization tour of the city's historic core, which thousands of followers were able to watch live on Facebook.

According to shantnews.am, Pashinyan's Sunday tour of Gyumri began with a cup of coffee at one of the cafes on Rizhkov Street. After warmly greeting the locals and receiving reciprocal greetings, the Prime Minister toured the reconstructed Abovyan Street, admiring the architecture of the buildings made from black polished stone.

Later, Nikol Pashinyan and Anna Hakobyan visited the museums of Hovhannes Shiraz, Avetik Isahakyan, and Mher Mkrtchyan on Varpetyats Street, exploring the personal belongings of the famous Gyumri residents and marveling at the furniture that was part of old Gyumri's daily life. In the Avetik Isahakyan house-museum, Anna Hakobyan also posed for a photo wearing a tannta, the traditional headdress worn by the women of old Gyumri.

As they wandered through the historic core of the city, the Prime Minister continuously expressed his admiration for Gyumri's ancient cobblestone streets and beautiful buildings, urging everyone to come and enjoy the atmosphere of one of the cradles of ancient civilization. “What we see today in Gyumri is indescribable; it's impossible to completely convey my feelings through a camera. Gyumri is a revelation for me; there is so much to see here that we didn't know anything about before. Come to Gyumri; you can see incredible things here,” he stated.

Anna Hakobyan also mentioned during the live broadcast that while she wasn’t tired from walking, she had lost her ability to speak, overwhelmed by her admiration and confusion. “There is so much to see; everything here is interesting. The antiquity preserved in Gyumri is magnificent; my grandmother is also from Gyumri, and I see and feel many familiar things here,” she added.

During their walk, the Prime Minister visited cafes, restaurants, and souvenir shops located in the city's historic core. In one of the city's older restaurants, he also toured the kitchen with a camera and photographed Gyumri's traditional dish, kyalal, before visiting a nearby ceramics workshop and admiring unique samples of restored Armenian pottery.

Throughout the familiarization tour, the Prime Minister interacted and took pictures with passersby and tourists in the city, inquiring about their impressions and feelings. He then visited the oldest Saint Nshan Church in the city and participated in the divine service.

Pashinyan and Anna Hakobyan also visited the historical courtyard where the films “Our Tango of Childhood” and “Happy Bus” were filmed, admiring the vaulted ceilings and cellars, and advising the resident to properly utilize their inherited environment to make it attractive and potentially profitable.

In his conversation with an Armenian family who had arrived from Russia, Pashinyan mentioned that Anna Hakobyan had advised them to sell their apartment in Yerevan and buy a house in Gyumri. According to the Prime Minister, this would be an investment in Gyumri's development and would serve as an excellent example for fellow citizens.

The Prime Minister also visited guesthouses in the historic core of the city, toured the relaxation rooms, and announced the daily rates, encouraging tourists to come and enjoy their affordable rest in Armenia's second city and to take advantage of the hotel rooms styled with the color of old Gyumri.

Pashinyan also visited the Gyumri Rock School, engaged in discussions with the young people, listened to their performances, and noted his happiness at seeing long-haired boys in shorts on the streets of Gyumri, something that was unimaginable years ago. The Prime Minister announced that he would attend the “Gyumri Day” event on August 25.
