Fire at Gyumri Airport Area: Ministry of Emergency Situations

Today, at 15:55, a call was received by the "911" service reporting that a grassy area was burning near Gyumri Airport in Shirak Province.

A firefighting team from the Ministry of Emergency Situations was dispatched to the scene. Aleksan Gyozalyan, head of the Shirak regional rescue department, informed Sputnik Armenia that the alert about the fire was received at 15:55.

"Currently, firefighting efforts are underway in the area. A dry grassy area is on fire. The fire is quite far from the airport premises," Gyozalyan stated.

The fire was contained at 17:00.
