Number of Tourists Arriving in Armenia Shows Impressive Growth: Nikol Pashinyan

During the first six months of this year, the number of tourists arriving in Armenia from various countries has recorded impressive growth. This was stated by Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan on his Facebook page.

“In particular, the number of tourists arriving from Germany has increased by 59.5%, from China by 53.5%, from the Netherlands by 34.9%, from Switzerland by 30%, from the UAE by 29.7%, from Greece by 29%, from Italy by 24.4%, from Great Britain by 22.9%, from Japan by 22.2%, from Russia by 19%, from Sweden by 19%, from the USA by 15%, and from France by 13%,” he noted.

Overall, in the first half of the year, we have a 12.8% growth in tourism. According to the Central Bank’s calculations, this year, compared to the previous year, tourists have spent approximately $120 million more in Armenia than last year. Every citizen of Armenia can apply to have a share of this amount.

Additionally, I want to emphasize how important it is to provide proper services to tourists, so that they leave Armenia with good impressions and enhance our country's recognition and image across the world,” he stated.
