Gonzales Crossed the Armenian Border Under the Surname Sargsyan, Osipyans Says
The son of Serge Sargsyan's brother, Alexander Sargsyan, has crossed the Armenian border under the surname 'Sargsyan'. This was stated by the Chief of the Armenian Police, Valery Osipyan, during a meeting with journalists, while addressing the high-profile case of Franklin Gonzales and Narek Sargsyan.
"While in Armenia, he crossed the border checkpoints as 'Sargsyan'. I cannot say how Gonzales became this way later; probably the law enforcement agencies of that country will clarify it once the preliminary investigation is completed," Osipyan said, responding to a question regarding Narek Sargsyan’s acquisition of a fake passport as a citizen of Guatemala.
As for the questions surrounding his extradition and return to Armenia, the police chief noted that these issues are outside the scope of police operations and are handled by other state bodies.
