Taxi Driver Sensed Something Was Wrong: Missing Child Found - Arman Hayrapetyan
Facebook user Arman Hayrapetyan posted on his page, announcing that a child who had escaped from an orphanage was found today.
In his post, he specifically recounts the story of people who are not indifferent and do not fear getting involved. “I was in the Cascade area during the day. A man (not pictured) was walking with a child, holding the child's hand, heading towards the security personnel at the Cascade while talking to someone on the phone. The child was pleading to be let go. I walked toward them. It turned out the child had escaped from the orphanage, and the man was a taxi driver, speaking with the child’s brother. He was not letting the child go and was waiting for the brother to call back. I approached the Cascade security staff to call the police, but the man didn’t want to get involved and claimed that it had nothing to do with him. I called the police, and while I was talking to them, the child was put into the taxi, which he had initially approached asking to take him to Armavir. The taxi driver sensed something was off and informed another driver, who then called the child’s brother with the number the child had provided. Meanwhile, a boy and a girl approached, and the boy also wanted to call the police, but thanks to my call, specialized police officers were already arriving. I received a call from the police within a minute, and another officer approached as well. The child was visibly upset, but the officers were very kind and friendly in their conversation with him, letting him out of the car to ensure he wasn’t feeling unwell.
It is unknown what would have happened if the taxi drivers had chosen to ignore the situation like others might and opted for indifference.
P.S. The phone number that the child provided as his brother’s became unavailable after speaking with the taxi driver.
P.P.S. The taxi driver was holding the child's hand and no one was asking what had happened or why he was holding the child and not letting go.
P.P.P.S. I also didn't manage to thank the taxi drivers for their caring attitude, attention, and for not being indifferent.
