Brown Smelly Meat Delivered to Gavar Orphanage, Ministry Reports
The Gavar Orphanage, operated under the Armenian Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs, has been supplied with substandard food. This information comes from the ministry's public relations department.
Internal audits conducted by the ministry revealed that the food items delivered to the orphanage on July 23, based on a request submitted by the institution, were inadequate and of poor quality. Specifically, 10 kg of peppers and 50 kg of apples, which were listed in the request, were missing, while 40 kg of meat was transported under non-refrigerated conditions.
Upon inspection, it was noted that the meat exhibited discoloration, had brown patches, an unpleasant smell, and the muscles and tendons appeared dark yellow.
Considering these findings, the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs has set a three-day deadline for the supplier, Photon LLC, to address the identified deficiencies in accordance with the contract.
The ministry reiterates that the quality and quantity of food and other products supplied to institutions under its management will remain a focal point for the relevant departments. Should the identified deficiencies not be resolved in a reasonable timeframe, the ministry will resort to the penalties outlined in the contractual agreements.
