Sargsyan to Return to Armenia with Plans Ahead

According to the newspaper “Zhoghovurd”, leader of the Republican Party Serzh Sargsyan is set to return to Armenia on July 24. Following his arrival, a visit to the Republic of Artsakh is also planned.

There is a viewpoint that the upcoming presidential and parliamentary elections in Nagorno-Karabakh concern Sargsyan, which is why he frequently visits Artsakh to gauge the prevailing sentiments there. However, the governmental sector in Artsakh stated in private conversations with “Zhoghovurd” that Sargsyan is not interested in the elections nor is he involved in them. According to them, he is simply relaxing in Artsakh, meeting with longtime friends without a political context, and there is no need to fetishize his persona.
