Azerbaijan Deploys Troops Near David Gareja Monastery Complex on the Georgian Border

Units of the Azerbaijani armed forces have been spotted in the disputed area of the David Gareja Monastery Complex, located on the border between Georgia and Azerbaijan. This information comes from photos shared by a Georgian user.

The user claims that the Azerbaijani side is establishing an entire base in the area, while only a handful of Georgian border guards are present and unable to protect their interests. The photos show Azerbaijani personnel being transported and disembarked near one of the monastery complex's buildings with several trucks.

Military-engineering works have already started in the area to adapt it for military purposes.
