Details on the Soldier's Death Incident

On July 20, 2019, around 18:15, conscript soldier Hamik Yeghia Vardanian was found with fatal gunshot wounds at a combat position observation post located under the protection of the Armed Forces of Armenia in the frontline region.

A criminal case has been initiated by the Investigation Department of the 8th Military Prosecutor's Office under Article 110, Part 1 of the Criminal Code of Armenia, and an investigation is underway.

Previously, the spokesperson for the Ministry of Defense of Armenia, Artsrun Hovhannisyan, reported that on the evening prior, the body of rank-and-file Hamik Yeghia Vardanian, born in 2000, was discovered at a combat position of one of the military units of the Armed Forces of Armenia.
