Efforts Underway to Determine the Cause of Stork Deaths in Hovtashen
In the Hovtashen community of the Ararat region, the Environmental and Natural Resources Inspection Body announces that due to the operational work of its staff, one stork with oiled feathers was transferred several days ago to the Scientific Center of Hydroecology of the National Academy of Sciences to investigate the substances that have contaminated the birds.
Currently, sampling work is being conducted on the Hrazdan River and the surrounding surface waters of the Hovtashen community to determine the pollution levels of the waters. Studies are also being carried out regarding wastewater discharges from operating entities in the area. The Environmental and Natural Resources Inspection Body will provide additional information about the results.
