Tragic Incident in Yerevan: Son Kills Mother, Stabs Father and Inflicts Self-Harm

A tragic incident occurred in Yerevan today, July 19, at approximately 03:45. The emergency services received a call from the Yerevan 1-03 ambulance station, reporting that two citizens from a residential area on Nor-Aresh Street were being transported to the Erebuni Hospital, one of whom did not regain consciousness and died en route.

According to Shamshyan.com, police and investigators have determined that the deceased was 61-year-old Angela K., a resident of the same street, while the injured party was her husband, 59-year-old Gaspar A.

Investigations revealed that their son, 27-year-old Arman A., also a resident of the same address, had inflicted multiple knife wounds on both of them. Neighbors living near the scene reported that Arman had attacked his parents with a knife and then attempted self-harm, after which he was found and subdued by officers from the Erebuni police department, while still bleeding.

Moreover, when police approached him, he raised the bloody knife and, unaware that they were law enforcement officers, stated, “Take a few pictures of me in this position.” Officers managed to wrest the knife from his hand and took him to the hospital.

Currently, both the father and son are hospitalized and, thanks to the efforts of the Yerevan 1-03 emergency and Erebuni doctors, their lives have been saved. According to sources, the deceased Angela K. was a Doctor of Philological Sciences, and her husband is also an intellectual.

By the decision of the investigator, Arman A. has been arrested as a suspect.
