VIDEO: My Husband Just Returned from Russia, We Don't Work with Wood. Iyjavantsi Woman Claims Her Husband Was Illegally Detained
Susanna Harutyunyan, a resident of Ijevan whose husband was detained during the protests in Ijevan on July 17, insists that her husband, Tigran Sargsyan, had no connection to the demonstration, nor is he involved in any wood-related business.
“On the 17th, we had gone for a medical examination, and on our way back from Yerevan, we encountered the protesters. After that, my husband took me and our children home on foot, and went back to bring the car once the road cleared,” the woman recounts. She states that during this time, he called her and mentioned that some men in berets had arrived and the situation was escalating.
According to her, shortly after returning home, her husband was unharmed, and his clothing was intact. “At 4:15 AM, we heard someone banging on the door, breaking it down. I opened the door to find nine people, one in civilian clothes and the others in uniforms, coming into our home, reeking of alcohol,” she says, continuing, “They went inside and twisted my husband’s arms. My 15-year-old child is still trembling.”
She points out that they have no information about her husband’s current whereabouts. “My husband does not live here; he had just returned from Russia two days ago and was supposed to go back. He hasn’t been here, we don’t work with wood,” she explains.
Susanna Harutyunyan mentions that she does not have a lawyer and has not reached out to one. She attempted to meet with the regional governor but only met with an assistant who told her to wait. “Until when should I wait, what should I do, where should I turn? Are they responsible for my child’s health, which has been harmed? We don’t work with wood, my husband just returned from Russia to take me to the doctor, and they took him at 4:30 AM from our house,” she states.
