Justice Minister's Father Held Senior Positions: Marina Khachatryan
The subordinate of Rustam Badasyan is trying to deny something that can only be confirmed or refuted by doctors, instead of the head of the NSS, the Minister of Defense, the head of the Military Police, or other competent authorities. This was stated by former Yerevan City Council member Marina Khachatryan on her Facebook page, asserting her demand presented in a letter to establish a professional commission to examine Rustam Badasyan's health condition and the grounds for his exemption from mandatory military service.
“Today I have sent letters to the Minister of Defense of Armenia, the Director of the NSS, and the Head of the Military Police, presenting medically substantiated doubts. Justice Minister Rustam Badasyan has a 30-degree scoliosis. Let me remind you that Badasyan was discharged from the army due to this condition, and his father, Vladimir Badasyan, held senior positions in the corrupted police of old Armenia, including Deputy Head of the Legal Department of the Police and First Deputy Head of the 6th Department, among others,” she wrote.
“In my letter, I demanded the establishment of a professional commission, which should include myself as a specialist-n neurosurgeon. I tasked the commission members to examine Rustam Badasyan's health status, all available documentation, and the grounds for his discharge from mandatory military service. I believe that if the Minister of Justice has nothing to hide and the basis for his exemption from the army is legitimate, he should be the first to be interested in accepting my offer as a specialist-neurosurgeon.
Unfortunately, instead of the head of the NSS, the Minister of Defense, the Head of the Military Police, or other competent bodies, a subordinate of Rustam Badasyan is trying to deny something that can only be proven or disproven by doctors.
I continue to insist on the demands raised in my letter and await a response from the actual addressees of my letter: the director of the NSS, the Minister of Defense, and the Head of the Military Police. Tomorrow, on July 17 at 12:00, I will participate in a press conference at the Hayeli club, where I am ready to answer all questions of interest to journalists.”
It should be recalled that earlier, Marina Khachatryan publicly addressed law enforcement agencies expressing doubts that Justice Minister Rustam Badasyan's exemption from military service entails corruption risks.
