We Must Understand How Internal Confidential Document Appeared in the Press, Karapetyan
The press secretary of the Prime Minister, Vladimir Karapetyan, referred to the remarks made by the Venice Commission regarding the ongoing processes in Armenia during its 119th session. In response to a question from Armenpress on how he interprets the Venice Commission's observations, Vladimir Karapetyan noted, "First of all, the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Armenia has already addressed this issue. I should also mention that what has been published is not suitable for the commentary of a document.
We also need to understand how an internal confidential document ended up in the press. We will try to clarify that circumstance through our representatives at the Venice Commission and draw the appropriate conclusions. As is known, the Venice Commission expresses its position regarding any country or issue through announcements and official letters or documents, which it did on May 22, with a letter to the Prime Minister.
I would also like to emphasize that the Government of Armenia maintains regular communication and effective cooperation with partners of the Venice Commission and values the bilateral interaction in the implementation of judicial reforms."
