Head-on Collision of Mercedes and Nissan in Yerevan Results in 2 Deaths, Including 2 Children Among the Injured
In Yerevan, a major and tragic car accident occurred today, July 12. At approximately 00:05, on Tbilisi Highway, at the address 27/7, a head-on collision took place between a Mercedes with license plate 71 NV 001 driven by Gurgen S. and a Nissan with license plate 36 FD 060 driven by 39-year-old Smbat M. from Charentsavan.
According to Shamshyan.com, as a result of the accident, drivers Gurgen S. and Smbat M., as well as a passenger from the Mercedes, 20-year-old Zhora A. from the Jrvadzor neighborhood of Yerevan, were taken to various hospitals in Yerevan with injuries. Injured passengers from the Nissan included 65-year-old Roza M., 67-year-old Lusine M., 8-year-old N. V., and 5-year-old A. V. Rescue teams used specialized equipment to extract the injured from their vehicles.
The source reported that driver Gurgen S. passed away hours later at the “Saint Grigor Lusavorich” Medical Center without regaining consciousness, and his passenger Zhora A. also died en route to the hospital without regaining consciousness in the ambulance. Among the injured, Roza, Lusine, and Smbat M. were taken to the Saint Grigor Lusavorich Medical Center, while children N. V. and A. V. were transported to the Izmirlian Medical Center, where they received initial medical care before being transferred to the Holy Mother of God Medical Center.
