Putin and Zelensky Hold First Telephone Conversation

Russian President Vladimir Putin has held a telephone conversation with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. According to RIA Novosti, the conversation took place at the initiative of the Ukrainian side.

“Issues related to the resolution of the situation in southeastern Ukraine and the return of individuals held by both sides were discussed,” reported Dmitry Peskov, press secretary of the Russian leader. He stated that an agreement had been reached to continue this work at the expert level.

Peskov also added that the potential for continuing communication in the Normandy format was discussed.
