Nikol Pashinyan Meets with the Chairman of the Vietnamese National Assembly

Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan's official visit to the Socialist Republic of Vietnam continues. On the morning of July 6, Nikol Pashinyan met with the Chairman of the National Assembly of Vietnam, Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan. The latter highly appreciated the Prime Minister’s official visit to Vietnam and noted that it would signal a new impetus for bilateral relations in various fields.

"We are following the events taking place in Armenia, and we congratulate you on the successes you are recording and on the strengthening of Armenia's position in the international arena. I am aware that you had effective and open discussions with our country’s Prime Minister yesterday," said Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan, adding that the National Assembly would also support the development of bilateral ties in every possible way.

Prime Minister Pashinyan expressed gratitude for the warm welcome and noted that he had productive negotiations with his Vietnamese counterpart, reaching specific agreements. "At the intergovernmental commission meeting taking place in Yerevan this autumn, a wide range of issues will be discussed, and effective decisions will be made regarding the facilitation of the visa regime, the development of tourist connections, signing agreements to eliminate double taxation, and other areas. We have also agreed to hold a business forum within the framework of the meeting, which will contribute to the development and expansion of trade and economic ties," said the Prime Minister.

According to the government leader, Armenia and Vietnam are connected by traditional relations. The Prime Minister also mentioned that the visit of Ho Chi Minh, the founder of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, to Armenia in 1959 left warm memories among our people.

Nikol Pashinyan emphasized the importance of developing intergovernmental and interparliamentary cooperation and conveyed an invitation from the President of the National Assembly of Armenia to Ms. Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan to visit Armenia, which was gladly accepted.

Both the Armenian Prime Minister and the Chairman of the Vietnamese National Assembly praised the cooperation between the parliaments of the two countries on international platforms and deemed it necessary to continue discussions to carry out activities in line with each other's positions. The interlocutors emphasized that the visit of the Armenian Prime Minister to Vietnam resulted in a favorable atmosphere for cooperation between the two countries, and the sides should continue active collaboration to achieve concrete results.
