Armenian Football Suffers Great Loss: Vanetsyan

The President of the Football Federation of Armenia, Arthur Vanetsyan, has sent a condolence message regarding the passing of Sargis Hovhivyan. “At the age of 80, legendary football player, coach, Master of Sports of the USSR, and Honored Coach of the Armenian SSR, Sargis Hovhivyan has passed away, whose name is inseparably linked to the significant pages of Armenian football.”

“As a player, Sargis Hovhivyan played a major role in Armenian football of the 1960s, bringing joy to the global Armenian community with his wonderful, unparalleled play. Armenian football has suffered a great loss. I deeply sympathize with Sargis Hovhivyan’s family, loved ones, and all fans of Armenian football.”
