Hit-and-Run in Gegharkunik Province: Victim is a 15-Year-Old Child

Today, July 6, a hit-and-run incident occurred in Gegharkunik Province. Around 11:30 AM, 39-year-old Hovhannes Avetisyan from Martuni city struck a pedestrian with his VAZ 2106 vehicle in front of the "Zovagugh" supermarket on the Yerevan-Sevan-Ijevan highway.

According to photojournalist Gagik Shamshyan, the driver did not flee the scene and assisted the injured party, who is a minor. He transported the victim to the medical center in Sevan. As per G. Shamshyan's reports, the injured is a resident of Sisian and is underage. He is a member of the Sisian volleyball team and was returning to Sisian from Vanadzor, where they had participated in a volleyball competition.

It is also noted that the driver is serving in the Armenian Ministry of Defense's military unit N.
