Brutal and Tragic Car Accident on Yerevan-Erasxavan Road at 'Zodi Bridge': 5 Charred Bodies Found in the 'Gazelle'
A brutal and tragic car accident-fire occurred recently in the Ararat region. At approximately 15:20, on the Yerevan-Meghri highway, known to the public as the Ararat Zodi Bridge, vehicles including a Toyota, a VAZ 2106, and a passenger 'Gazelle' collided.
According to photojournalist Gagik Shamshyan, a fire broke out in the 'Gazelle' as a result of the collision, reducing it to a pile of ashes. Firefighters from the Ararat Rescue Service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations arrived on the scene with one fire-engine crew and, with the help of bystanders, managed to extinguish the fire and found five charred bodies inside the vehicle.
The police and investigative department are working to identify the drivers, the injured, and the deceased. Authorities are also investigating whether any other individuals were in the 'Gazelle' in addition to the five found.
