Valery Osipyan on the Murder of 'Massivtsi Andik'

The Chief of Police of Armenia, Valery Osipyan, during a ceremony for awards on the Constitution Day spoke with journalists about receiving the rank of general and the increase in responsibility.

In response to a question regarding whether it was easy for him to obtain this rank, as others take years to achieve it, Osipyan said, “I have been a colonel for about 10 years, the assessment... If you think so, I will not evaluate my work; society and my colleagues will provide a better assessment.”

Referring to the murder of Andranik Harutyunyan (Massivtsi Andik), a so-called thief in law, in Nor Nork a few days ago, the police chief mentioned that all operational measures related to the case are being carried out in cooperation with other units.

“I cannot say more due to the interests of the case. I will not say anything at this moment, as it would hinder the investigation,” Valery Osipyan stated.

In response to journalists' observations that there is turmoil in the criminal world following this murder, the police chief assured, “I can assure you that the criminal world is under the control of the police. I see no problem.”
