Anna Hakobyan Invites the Wife of Vietnam's Prime Minister to Armenia

The wife of the Armenian Prime Minister, Anna Hakobyan, who is also the chairwoman of the "My Step" and "City of Smile" charitable foundations, met with Tran Nguyet Thuy, the wife of the Prime Minister of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, in Hanoi on July 5.

During the meeting, Anna Hakobyan shared her impressions of Hanoi, noting that she observed kindness in the eyes of the Vietnamese people. According to her, the foundation of this kindness lies in traditional Vietnamese music, which makes it impossible to feel malice or anger after listening to it.

"Your visit is very important and can serve as an impetus for the further development of relations between our two countries. I know that Armenia has a rich history and cultural heritage. Each year, Armenia experiences a significant influx of tourists. I hope to be able to visit your historic country," said Tran Nguyet Thuy.

In response, Anna Hakobyan expressed her gratitude for the warm welcome and hospitality, stating, "Your country is wonderful, and I have truly fallen in love with your city. It is very beautiful and very comfortable. I am amazed by your people's hospitality. I hope that you and your husband will find time to visit our country. I invite you to Armenia, and I am sure that, just as I loved your country, you will also love Armenia.”

She added that mutual visits would contribute to friendship between both families, as well as between the two peoples and states. In response, Tran Nguyet Thuy emphasized that Armenia and Vietnam have a long-standing friendship and that efforts must be made today to further develop these relations.

"We are grateful for the support that Armenia has provided to Vietnam during its years of gaining independence and later on," said the wife of Vietnam's Prime Minister.

The participants discussed the importance of women's roles and the preservation of peace. "In our journey, my husband and I talked about how powerful the Vietnamese people are, as they have fought to preserve their independence. This was a very courageous step. I know that this achievement has not come easily, with sacrifices and losses, but the state and the country are worth it," stated the wife of the Armenian Prime Minister.

"It is because of those sacrifices that our country values peace so highly," emphasized the wife of the Vietnamese Prime Minister.

Agreeing with her, Anna Hakobyan shared that Armenia has also been embroiled in war for 30 years. She spoke about the history of Artsakh and the Artsakh issue. In this context, Anna Hakobyan presented her initiative, "Women for Peace," emphasizing that the goal of the campaign is to raise awareness about maintaining peace through the efforts of women, mothers, and sisters, calling for conflict resolution not through weapons but through peaceful means. Tran Nguyet Thuy welcomed the initiative, adding that peace is an exceptional value.

During the meeting, the two first ladies also discussed their other initiatives. Anna Hakobyan presented the activities of the "City of Smile" foundation, while Thuy shared how she supports individuals with blood diseases.
