VАЗ 2107 Hits Pedestrian in Gegharkunik, Leaves Scene and Flees

In the Gegharkunik region, a fatal accident occurred on July 3 at approximately 16:30. The driver of a VAZ 2107 with license plate 35 MP 275 struck a pedestrian on the 43.2 km section of the Sevan-Martuni-Getap highway, leaving the victim unattended and fleeing the scene without the vehicle.

The pedestrian was reported to have died on the spot, and according to Shamshyan.com, the deceased has been identified as 69-year-old Levik Hakobyan, a resident of the city of Vedi in the Ararat region. The vehicle involved in the accident was discovered about 50 meters from the body.

The police and investigative department are carrying out necessary operational and investigative actions to locate the fleeing driver.
