Police Detain Criminal Authorities
According to the directives of the Chief of Police Valeri Osipyan, the personnel of the regional subdivisions of the police carried out enhanced service on June 29 and 30 to ensure public order, enhance traffic safety, and prevent and reveal crimes and offenses. The enhanced service involved not only the personnel of the regional departments and territorial subdivisions but also the traffic police and employees of the main department for state protection.
In the Ararat region, inspections were carried out at the residences of 62 individuals considered criminal authorities based on operational data. A total of 43 individuals were detained in Artashat, Masis, and Ararat, including those previously convicted several times. As a result of the two-day enhanced service, 288 violations of traffic rules were detected, and records were compiled based on these facts. Several dozen vehicles whose drivers committed gross violations were moved to special holding areas.
The police in Armavir also identified 61 violations of traffic rules during the enhanced service. They transferred 33 vehicles to special holding areas, and 14 of their drivers were under the influence of alcohol. A total of 326 individuals were detained in the Armavir regional police departments for various suspicions, failure to comply with police officers' legal demands, and displaying improper behavior in society.
The Shirak police detained 180 individuals in total under various suspicions in the departments of Mush, Gyumri, Ani, Artik, Ashotsk, Amasia, and Akhuryan, including previously convicted persons and 12 criminal authorities. The two-day enhanced service was also effective in revealing crimes in Shirak. Police in Mush and Gyumri uncovered one case of cold weapon possession, while Akhuryan police revealed a theft case and Ashotsk police uncovered illegal drug trafficking. During the two-day enhanced service, 165 violations of traffic rules were detected, and records were created based on these facts. 24 vehicles whose drivers endangered the life and health of other road users were transferred to special holding areas.
During the two-day enhanced service conducted in the Kotayk region, 45 violations of traffic rules were identified, and 9 vehicles were moved to special holding areas. A total of 30 individuals were detained in the divisions in Hrazdan, Kotayk, Charentsavan, and Nairi, including 3 criminal authorities. The Kotayk police discovered a robbery during the enhanced service.
The police in Tavush also brought several dozen individuals under various suspicions to the departments of Ijevan, Dilijan, Tavush, and Noyemberyan on June 29 and 30. Some of those detained did not comply with the legal requirements of the police officers. Administrative proceedings were initiated in some cases. The traffic police and department personnel moved 18 vehicles to special holding areas and compiled records.
In the Syunik region, police identified 65 violations of traffic rules, based on which records were compiled. For the purpose of preventive work, 30 individuals were detained in the divisions of Kapan, Goris, Meghri, and Sisian, including 2 criminal authorities. Several individuals were detained for various suspicions and displaying improper behavior.
Moving to Gegharkunik, a group of individuals were brought and detained in the divisions of Gavar, Martuni, Vardenis, Sevan, and Jambarak under different suspicions of wrongdoing. A case of personal property theft was uncovered. During the enhanced service, Gegharkunik police inspected 540 vehicles, whose drivers raised suspicion. 123 violations of traffic rules were identified, and records were compiled based on these facts. Several dozen vehicles were moved to special holding areas, including one truck loaded with illegal timber. The materials prepared for this fact have been transferred to the Dilijan division of the police.
In Ashtarak, Aparan, Talin, and other settlements in the Aragatsotn region, police discovered 44 violations of traffic rules during the enhanced service, and several dozen vehicles were moved to special holding areas. Drivers faced administrative responsibility. A group of individuals, including criminal authorities, was brought and detained in the departments.
The police in Vayots Dzor also conducted an enhanced service identifying 17 violations of traffic rules, and several vehicles were moved to special holding areas. Territorial divisions were convened for a group of previously convicted individuals to carry out preventive measures.
During the enhanced service of police in Lori region, 130 individuals were brought and detained in the divisions of Bazum, Taron, Gugark, Tashir, Spitak, Stepanavan, and Tumanyan, including previously convicted persons and 6 criminal authorities. Among the detainees were individuals who did not comply with legal demands of police officers and displayed improper behavior. Administrative proceedings were initiated in some cases. During the two-day enhanced service, 7 crimes were revealed, and 2 wanted persons were identified. A total of 143 records were compiled based on various violations of traffic rules, and 18 vehicles were transferred to special holding areas.
As a result of the enhanced service conducted in the regions on June 29 and 30, police discovered approximately 970 violations of traffic rules, and around 820 individuals were brought and detained in departments. More than 20 crimes were uncovered during the enhanced service.
Concerned about public safety, police officers will continuously carry out such enhanced services in accordance with Valeri Osipyan's directives, keeping all violators under control.
