New Deputy Minister Appointed in the Ministry of Justice
According to the decision of the Prime Minister of Armenia, Nikol Pashinyan, Kristine Grigoryan has been appointed as the Deputy Minister of Justice.
"Guided by part 1 of Article 9 of the Republic of Armenia Law on Public Service, Kristine Grigoryan is appointed as Deputy Minister of Justice," the decision states.
Below is the biography of the newly appointed deputy minister.

2004-2009 - Specialist in the Department of Legislative Analysis and Development of the Staff of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia
March-October 2009 - Translator-Legal Advisor in the Department of External Relations of the Staff of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia
2009-2011 - Assistant to the Chief of Staff of the National Assembly on legal matters
2011-2014 - Assistant to a Member of the National Assembly of Armenia (the last two years concurrently)
2012-2014 - Assistant to the President of the National Assembly on legal matters
2014-2015 - Team Leader in the USAID project "Support for the Development of Institutional Capacities of the National Assembly of Armenia" (component on improving procedures and regulations)
2015-2018 - Head of the Department of International Legal Cooperation of the Ministry of Justice of Armenia
2018-2019 - Advisor to the First Deputy Prime Minister Ararat Mirzoyan (on international legal issues)
January 2019 to July 2019 - Advisor to the President of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia (on international legal issues).
On July 3, 2019, by the decision of the Prime Minister, she was appointed as Deputy Minister of Justice.
Education:
1998-2002 - Bachelor’s degree in Arabic Studies, Faculty of Oriental Studies, Yerevan State University
2002-2004 - Master’s degree in Arabic Studies, Faculty of Oriental Studies, Yerevan State University
2006-2008 - Bachelor’s degree in Law, Northern University.
Other Information:
Fluent in English, Russian, French, German, and Arabic. Holds a diploma in French in the field of diplomacy and international relations. Unaffiliated. Not married.
She is responsible for coordinating the activities of the Ministry in the following areas assigned to her by the Minister:
a) Coordination and implementation of the action plan stemming from the national strategy for the protection of human rights;
b) Participation in the legal protection of the Republic of Armenia's interests in interstate relations;
c) Implementation of powers related to international treaties within the framework of the Ministry's competencies under the Law on International Treaties of the Republic of Armenia;
d) Ensuring the legislative framework for the protection of the rights of arrested and detained individuals in places of deprivation of liberty, and maintaining connections with relevant international organizations (such as the Committee for the Prevention of Torture of the Council of Europe, the UN Committee Against Torture, etc.);
e) Coordination of legal support for the integration processes of the Republic of Armenia;
f) Coordination of legal assistance in civil and criminal matters, and the transfer of convicts;
g) Ensuring cooperation and coordination of joint programs with other countries, international donor and lending organizations;
h) Development of policies and programs of the "Center for Translations of the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Armenia", and ensuring the official translation of legal acts.
The Deputy Minister, V. Kocharyan, coordinates the relevant activities in the areas assigned to her through the Department of International Legal Cooperation of the Ministry, the Department of Legal Assistance, as well as through the non-profit state organization operating under the Ministry, the "Center for Translations of the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Armenia".
