Extraordinary Incident in Kotayk Region: Armenian Foreign Ministry Official Attempted to Strangle 46-Year-Old Citizen
According to SHAMSHYAN.com, materials are being prepared in the investigation department of the Kotayk police regarding an incident that occurred yesterday, July 2, in the Kotayk region. As reported by photojournalist Gagik Shamshyan, around 21:00, a call was received at the Kotayk police station from 46-year-old Hrant Nikoghosyan, a resident of the village of Nerkhin Ptghni, who reported that there had been an argument at his home and the owner of the house, 46-year-old Hayk Hakobyan, was disturbing him and choking him.
According to the photojournalist, a police operational group was dispatched to the specified address, where Nikoghosyan reported that he was living in Hakobyan's house and that Hakobyan had attacked him once again and inflicted blows on him. During this time, Hakobyan had pressed his hands around his neck, causing physical pain. Shamshyan's sources indicate that Nikoghosyan informed the police that Hakobyan works as the head of the Department of Administration at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Armenia.
The police are investigating whether Nikoghosyan's claims are true, and a number of examinations have been appointed, including forensic medical examinations.
