Attempt to Extort Large Sum from Director of Ophthalmology Clinic
Recently, a criminal case was initiated in the Investigative Department of the National Security Service of Armenia under Article 182, Part 1, clauses 2 and 3.1 of the Criminal Code, which pertains to extortion.
According to Shamshyan.com, referencing its own sources, NSS officers determined that Vrej V. and Karo Kh., upon preliminary agreement, attempted to extort a significant sum of money from the director of a renowned ophthalmology clinic operating in the country, by threatening him.
Vrej V. and Karo Kh. threatened the clinic's director that they would publish damaging information that could significantly harm his legal interests if he did not pay them between 1,500 to 2,000 USD.
Thanks to the professional actions of NSS employees, Vrej V. and Karo Kh. were unable to achieve their goal.
