Yerevan Municipality Reports 1.7 Billion AMD More Collected in First Half of 2019 Compared to Previous Year
The performance of planned and collected indicators for the first half of 2019 has been summarized, resulting in a budget performance of 100.9% for the City of Yerevan's own revenues. The actual collected amount increased by 1.7 billion AMD compared to the same period last year. During a working meeting, Mayor Hayk Marutyan instructed the heads of administrative districts to maintain daily focus on the revenue collection process.
The annual program for the improvement of streets in the capital continues. In 2019, approximately 600,000 square meters of asphalting works will be carried out. Emphasizing road and pedestrian safety, Mayor Marutyan has tasked to collaborate with the Road Police to ensure proper lines marking.
Control over illegal outdoor trade in Yerevan continues. Last week, 25 administrative violation reports were compiled. It was instructed to strengthen supervision in several chronic locations.
Daily inspections are also being conducted at construction sites. The Mayor has been informed that 26 reports were compiled last week for improper organization of construction sites.
In June 2019, Yerevan Metro transported 1,641,029 passengers. It was reported to the Mayor that this figure is 9.6% higher compared to the same period last year.
Last week, 353 lighting points were restored in the capital's outdoor lighting network.
Work to modernize the outdoor lighting network on Babajanyan Street continues. Sodium lamps will be replaced with modern, energy-saving LED lights.
The director of the "Stray Animal Neutralization Center" NGO reported that over the past week, 102 dogs were vaccinated, sterilized, and microchipped, of which two were taken in by animal lovers.
In the past week, 431 babies were born in the city, including 237 boys and 194 girls.
Through the hotlines of the Yerevan Municipality and the administrative districts, about 1,087 calls were received last week, with 691 resolved and work ongoing on 396 others.
