Stabbing Incident Near Republic Square
On June 29, at 4 PM, a report was received by the police from the "Erebuni" Medical Center indicating that a 55-year-old man had been admitted with a diagnosis of a "stab-wound to the left side of the abdomen." According to the emergency doctor’s statement, the man had been stabbed at Republic Square.
A police operational group was dispatched to the hospital; however, the injured was unable to provide an explanation. Through the efforts of officers from the Central Police Division, the crime was solved one day after the incident.
Utilizing the operational data received, criminal investigators identified that around 10:30 PM on June 28, during an argument on Arami Street, a resident of Gyumri had attacked the man with a kitchen knife.
On June 30, the suspect was located and taken to the Central Police Division. The knife used in the crime was also recovered from him. The detained individual has been arrested. An investigation is underway.
