Horseback Units to Patrol the Shores of Lake Van

To ensure the coastal security of the Erdemit (Artamet) district in Van Province, Turkey, the provincial gendarmerie has established a new unit consisting of horseback officers. According to ermenihaber.am, the responsibility of this new unit is to ensure the safety and tranquility of peaceful residents and tourists in the coastal area.

The unit will also cooperate with anti-terrorism squads. Especially in areas where access for vehicles or police motorcycles is challenging, the horseback units will provide assistance.
