The Asphalt Ruler: Every Passing Day Proves that the Current Ruler and His Party Cannot Control the Situation
“Every passing day proves that the current ruler and his party cannot manage the country’s situation. The reason is simple: they are driven not by the interests of Armenia, but by unclear or perhaps very clear interests of their own. Not without outside assistance:
The country, while turning all state institutions into a Sodom and Gomorrah, has already entered a farcical domain with the ‘catch-and-release Kocharian’ operation if the most crucial institutions of the country had not ‘fallen to the asphalt,’ if the country were not located in a geopolitical ‘fire zone,’ if the nation were not so divided, and if ‘fire volleys’ were not being launched from Armenia towards Artsakh.
It is clear that the person sitting in the prime minister’s chair has no concerns regarding any of this; he is implementing the necessary program we have spoken about endlessly. The international community, particularly those ‘munitions’ of the revolution in Armenia, have targeted the Nagorno-Karabakh issue, yielding a ‘spillover effect’ with a serious prospect of fundamentally weakening Russian influence in the region.
Yes, it was interesting and vibrant last week regarding the Armenian authorities’ foreign and Artsakh-related activities. After a 3-4 hour meeting in Washington, it is clear that crucial issues were discussed during that time. As expected, there was a leak, as always from the Azerbaijani side.
Mamedyarov stated that during those hours, the model for the return of territories and the deployment of peacekeepers was discussed. Let’s not get carried away by leaks, especially since the Armenian Ministry of Foreign Affairs has denied it, despite the backdrop of Secretary of the Security Council Armen Grigoryan’s inadvertent ‘confession’ that Mamedyarov, i.e., the Azerbaijani side, violated the agreement; although what agreement, aside from allowing a ‘utichka,’ is not mentioned) and apart from the OSCE MG’s statement, other thoughts were expressed.
Moreover, it should be noted that no country among the OSCE co-chairs has denied what Mamedyarov said.
So let’s understand what Mamedyarov is saying. Nothing new. Mamedyarov is presenting the key point of the ‘Madrid Principles,’ which, according to the sequence, is the last or penultimate point, but in these negotiations, it seems to have become the first. This is it. Furthermore, neither the Russian nor the Boltonian American presidencies nor the French one are against this ‘turn,’ as is understood, is not decisive.
Why? Each of the co-chairing countries thinks that it will be their peacekeepers in the conflict zone and is attempting to exert pressure on the parties through their levers to achieve that…
Let’s hold a pause to say that Azerbaijan’s Defense Minister Hasanov also, in continuation of Mamedyarov’s remarks, stated that if the gunfire interferes, the Armenian side had made a gesture, claiming that peace process cannot advance under the conditions of gunfire); we will not shoot so that the agreements can be implemented.
And now many are waiting to see what results will come from the Trump-Putin meeting within the framework of the G-20, where the first topic of discussion is Iran. Let's remember: peacekeepers will be positioned along the border with Iran.
In any case, the revolutionary ‘munetnik’ prime minister is not living his best days, especially since for the umpteenth time he threw a stone into Russia's ‘garden,’ this time at the PACE, amid the backdrop of Georgia’s intense internal political developments with the Armenian delegation's voting.
What’s even more ‘exciting’ was the back-and-forth technology that Armenia used; the head of the delegation did not understand what he was voting for, why, and by whom. And once again, Armenia’s foreign policy ‘played games’ in the Russian field, the field where neither Mr. Bolton, nor Pompeo, nor extraordinary Trump can manage to stand.
Returning to ourselves, we must wait to see how quickly the Mnatsakanyan-Mamedyarov meetings are organized, and subsequently the Pashinyan-Aliev meetings, and more importantly, what agenda will be set.
