7-Year-Old Girl Drowns After Falling into Martuni River

A tragic incident occurred in the Gegharkunik region today. Around 14:00, the Ministry of Emergency Situations received a report that a child had fallen into the river in Geghovit village and was swept away by the current, according to Shamshyan.com.

Before the rescuers from Martuni could arrive at the scene, citizens discovered the child's body about 2 kilometers downstream in the Martuni River.

Police and investigators have determined that the drowned child was 7-year-old M.P., a resident of Geghovit village. Investigative materials are being prepared by investigator S. Khachatryan regarding the incident.
