7-Year-Old Child Dies After Falling into River

On June 28, at 13:33, the "911" service received a call reporting that a child had fallen into the Martuni River in the village of Geghhovit, Gegharkunik Province, and that rescue assistance was needed.

According to the press service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, an operational group from the fire and rescue unit was dispatched to the scene, along with a combat unit.

At approximately 14:15, local forces retrieved M.P., a resident of the Geghhovit community (born in 2012), from the water near one of the houses on Getap'nya Street. He was transported to the hospital in Martuni, where he was pronounced dead without regaining consciousness.
