Video: This Resembles a Defective Logic – We Are Many, We Are Strong, Therefore We Are Right. The "Ahazang" Protest Concluded

The protest by members of the ARF-Dashnaktsutyun's "Ahazang" initiative concluded in front of the National Assembly. On June 25, the initiative's members organized another protest, demanding the annulment of the income tax implementation proposed in the tax code package. The protest ended as the National Assembly fully adopted the changes to the tax code.

“The National Assembly endorsed a proposal that directly harms the majority of the population. This proposal foresees compensating an annual loss of about 45 billion drams to the state budget by increasing the prices of various goods that we use in our daily lives. This proposal does not improve the living standards of the majority of the population, comprising low-income and impoverished individuals. Instead, it increases the incomes of a few thousand people on a monthly basis. We declare that the entire responsibility for this proposal falls on each member of parliament who supported it, and at the same time, the political force that brought this agenda forward bears responsibility. This resembles an old, defective logic – we are many, we are strong, therefore we are right,” said initiative member Kristine Vardanyan.

She announced that their struggle continues: “From now on, the initiative will continue its activities in Armenia as a movement aimed at establishing and consolidating social justice. Unfortunately, we could not achieve the desired results, but our struggle and activities will persist.”
